Major Paths
Creating a continuous path system with exiting sites.

Field House Circulation
Connected pathway with accessible waterfront paths.

Ribbon
Ribbon wraps around and through building.

Open Green Space
Unique green spaces for various programs

Pervious Hardscape
Programmable and resilient hardscape.

Transit Station
New station improve transit buffer in the area.

Noise Pollution
Reduce noise pollution by spacing most buildings from the bridge.

Height Hierarchy
Higher buildings are East of the river while the smaller buildings are West.

Waterfront
Two level waterfront engages user closer to the water.

Berm and Pool Circulation
Cross circulation provides users vast opportunities on the site.

Bridging Spiral
Spiral of ribbon occurs in the commercial sector of the site for a dynamic experience.

Vista Nodes
Maximize vistas for users of NY. Some framed by the ribbon.
The home is located in Gurabo, Dominican Republic. Gurabo experiences various challenges in which the project takes into account in order to fortify resiliency of the home. The area of Gurabo experiences strong storms and hurricanes with occasional flooding. And Imagine the loss of power on a regular basis.

Mycelium, our architecture project, embodies the concept of connectivity and circulation between different sites. Inspired by the intricate network of mycelium in nature, we utilized this analogy to give meaning to our design. Just as mycelium connects various organisms in the ecosystem, our project aimed to foster a similar interconnectedness between different architectural elements and spaces. We focused on creating a fluid and dynamic flow, allowing movement and exchange from one site to another. By emulating the efficiency and adaptability of mycelium, we sought to enhance the overall experience and functionality of the built environment. Our design embodies the spirit of connectivity and circulation, inviting people to engage with the spaces in a seamless and organic manner.

Building Area
Minimize building footprint to provide more open and connected green space.

Building Height
Height is based on maximizing vistas. Higher buildings are East of the river.

Building Corners
Fillet or manipulated corners provide light to enter spaces where less sun hits.

Building Cutouts
Maximize sun exposure on green spaces and ribbons for a comfortable experience.

Project Site
Location: Vernon Blvd, Queens, NY
Site: E

Mobility
Lack of accessible train stops. Transportation desert.

Flood Plains
Site E is in the 100 and 500 year plan, but it is not as critical as other sites (A, B, C, D).

Income
